Automate the research, never the relationship.
A coach I spoke with recently sent just over 400 connection requests in a month.
She got 11 acceptances. One reply. The reply asked her to stop.
The tool she paid for did exactly what it promised. It sent messages. That was never her problem.
Here is the maths nobody selling those tools wants to show you.
Sending 20 messages takes about 20 minutes. Researching 20 people properly, so each message could have been written only to that one person, takes about three hours.
So which half did the software automate? The 20 minutes. Every time.
It automated the easy part and left the hard part undone, then multiplied the result by 400.
If you run a coaching practice, a consultancy or an online shop, this is worth sitting with, because the same pattern shows up everywhere AI gets sold to small businesses. The tool takes over the visible task and quietly skips the thinking underneath it.
The thinking is the bit that works.
AI is genuinely brilliant at research. It can read a profile, find the thread running through someone’s career, and tell you what they actually care about, in about ninety seconds.
Use it there. Then write the message yourself.
What is the last outreach message you actually replied to, and what made you reply?
Helping women-led businesses adopt AI on their own terms — strategically, and without the burnout — is the whole reason I do this work. If that’s where you are right now, get in touch.
